Thumbay Technologies, the leading IT services company owned by Dubai-based international conglomerate Thumbay Group, formally launched the ‘Sehatak’ software, an advanced hospital information management system compliant with EMRAM 7th Stage standards. The launch function was held at Gulf Medical University (GMU) – Ajman on 1st August 2018, in the presence of the chief guest Dr. Thumbay Moideen – Founder President of Thumbay Group, Prof. Hssam Hamdy – Chancellor of GMU, Mr. Akbar Moideen Thumbay – Vice President of the Healthcare Division of Thumbay Group and other guests. The software was officially launched by Dr. Thumbay Moideen.
Developed using advanced technologies, the Sehatak 8.1 version is compatible with all browsers and can be accessed from portable devices as well. It is specially designed to cater to the needs of large healthcare providers and hospital chains. Its advantages include reduced administration overheads and superior compatibility on account of being platform independent. It features advanced security features including biometric authentication. One of the highlights of the application is its speech recognition functionality, enabling the conversion of audio to text.
Sehatak 8.1 also supports e-records, significantly reducing cost and storage requirements, at the same time safeguarding against loss or damage of patient records. This in turn facilitates better analysis and decision-making and data exchange between and with entities under the parent facility. Furthermore, the application is fully compliant with the UAE Government requirements (DHA/MOH/HAAD).
Speaking at the launch event, Mr. Akram Moideen Thumbay – Director of Thumbay Technologies said that the event was an important milestone in Thumbay Technologies’ efforts to implement new technologies across Thumbay Group and its entities. “Developing innovative technologies with focus on the educational and healthcare sectors is one of the priority areas of Thumbay Technologies. Artificial Intelligence is one of our focus areas. We aim to make Thumbay Group and its entities completely paperless by 2020,” he said.
Mr. Akram also said that Thumbay Technologies would shortly be opening marketing offices in the US, UK and Africa and a development center in India. “We are working towards new technologies like Blockchain technology for healthcare, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) for healthcare processes and incorporating AI into our hospital management software. We are presently undergoing ISO 9001 and 27001 implementation expected to be completed this year. Our next target is CMM Level3 certification,” he added.
Commenting on the new application’s importance, Mr. Akbar Moideen Thumbay said, “The Healthcare Division is glad to partner with Thumbay Technologies to implement this advanced application compliant with EMRAM 7th Stage standards. This is especially important in view of our expansion plans which envision the Thumbay academic hospital network to have a total of 1000 beds in the UAE, 1500 beds in India and 750 beds elsewhere in the Gulf and Africa by 2022.”
